I think it’s because it is such a bold foreground element, whereas the Terragen landscape is far in the background that it works as it does. I’m slightly and pleasantly surprised that the foreground foliage actually works quite well here I had initially thought as the image began to download that there would be too big a clash in styles between your painted foliage and the Terragen image.
